To insure absolute surface uniformity, S&S pours
their glass onto a bed of mercury. Each piece of glass is perfectly flat and optically
pure. We use only 20 mm / 3/4 thick glass in our furniture range. This extremely
thick glass is unusual in the furniture industry, but it guarantees a high load
capacity and accentuates the elegant design of fine audio and
video components.

QED SILVER ANNIVERSARY BI-WIRE
Spearheading the QED Original range, Silver Anniversary provides
high-end performance at a real world price. Developed from our very first ground-breaking
cable, Silver Anniversary celebrates QED’s 25 years of achievement in audio
design and innovation.
The quad bunches of silver plated oxygen free copper
are formed into a Spiral lay and are clearly visible through the shimmer pearl
white low density polyethylene jacket. This defined conductor geometry allows
the use of thinner insulation which reduces cable losses and delivers superior
performance.

CONSTRUCTION
WHY BI-WIRE?
Starting from the inside, Genesis Silver Spiral comprises two grouped
bunches of conductors. Each Group is made up of nine individually insulated silver
plated 99.999% Oxygen Free Copper cores twisted around two central fillers (one
red, one white) in QED's special spiral geometry to minimise sound-degrading "proximity
effect". Silver Plated OFC provides greater conductivity than copper alone
and delivers superb resolution and delicacy, especially when used as part of a
high end system.
All elements of the dielectric, including the thin, low
density conductor insulation, are Polyethylene (a material with a low dielectric
constant and an ability to dramatically reduce signal leakage). The grouping geometry
reduces inductance between conductors, thus minimising field effect distortions.
Aluminium mylar tape separates the twisted conductors and the translucent PVC
jacket provides a tough protective flexible outer cover.
ENHANCED GEOMETRY
All the
new bi-wire cables in the Original Range feature an enhanced geometry that minimises
cable inductance by precisely spacing opposing sets of conductors. This provides
greater high frequency stability, allowing the amplifier to maintain tight control
of the speakers throughout the audible range.
