42PX4DV Plasma TV
Electronics plans to
strengthen its’ strong presence in the Plasma TV market with the launch of
the new 42” Plasma TV, 42PX4DV.
The 42PX4DV is aimed
for beginner to intermediate Plasma TV users that do not demand top-of-the-line
products, such as LG’s 71” PDP, but still demand great value. 42PX4DV
boasts the highest picture quality in its tier with all of LG’s innovative
technologies embedded within it including 10,000:1 contrast and 1,500cd brightness.
Main features will include the film filter, which eliminates glare and double
images, and the new XD engine, which convert analog signals to HD grade picture
quality. The 42PX4DV is expected to follow the footsteps of the highly
successful 42PX11, which is currently the no.1 Plasma TV model in Europe. LG strongly
believes increased sales and market share created by the 42PX4DV can strengthen
the company’s image as one of the top global Plasma TV makers in the world. 42PX4DV
is the first VGA Plasma TV to implement the film filter, which reflects LG Electronics’
dedication to quality. Film filters greatly reduce light distortion and glare
caused by thick glasses resulting in higher contrast, lower image distortion and
lighter weight. To maximize picture quality 42PX4DV has implemented
the upgraded and improved New XD-Engine chip. The new improved chip converts low-resolution
analog signals to high-definition levels also including edge enhancement and noise
reduction technology. The overall effect is to provide vibrant, clean and detailed
picture quality never seen in normal analog TVs. Other functions
such as SRS Trusurround, Picture In Picture and Picture Out Picture are included
for the comfort of the users and each TV comes complete with a diverse option
of interfaces, including the new loss free HDMI connection for easy and effective
connectivity with various AV equipments. S.H. Yoon, President of

the consumer friendly 42PX4DV , LG Electronics will solidify its global leadership
in the PDP market through its world leading technology and active marketing force.”
The 42PX4DV is expected to be released in the 2nd quarter of 2005
and the 50-inch version at the start of the fourth quarter. The price is expected
to follow the market price of VGA Plasma TVs but LG Electronics states that the
high quality will give 42PX4DV a higher value than other equal priced products.
