(Adaptive Brightness Intensifier) -70% Improvement in Peak Brightness.
Panasonic's unique Advanced Plasma AI increases the discharge cycles for dark
scenes, and it has double the brightness control precision of our previous systems.
The result is an unprecedented brightness of 650 cd/m2 - 70% increase in peak
brightness compared with non AI plasma models. The TH-37PWD4 greatly expands the
dynamic range of all images, from black to white peak. you get pictures that are
exceptionally sharp, natural looking, and wonderfully bright. Advanced
Digital Signal Processing - Improved Moving Pictures The TH-37PWD4 can provide
smooth, natural looking moving pictures with excellent detail thanks to greatly
improved precision in the False-Edge Predictor circuit. This circuit identifies
areas where a moving picture is subject to degradation and dramatically reduces
the picture noise there. Flicker Free Pictures Panasonic plasma display
is able to display all input video signals in progressive format. This result
in flicker-free pictures that are easy in the eyes. 3
Dimensional Progressive Scan This
function turns the interface signals used in present broadcasts into progressive
scan signals for optimal performance in the dot matrix system of plasma displays.
Our 3 Dimensional Progressive Scan extracts the interpolated data with the highest
correlation from a total of 10 lines of image information for three fields (the
present field and the fields before and after). This greatly decreases the blurry
motion that tends to occur with the conventional systems, giving you clear, natural
moving pictures. Asymmetrical Cell Structure Panel The
TH-37PWD4 employs a panel with a unique asymmetrical cell structure that achieves
both high brightness and crisp whites - a combination not possible with previous
systems. The asymmetrical arrangement of the red, blue and green cells dramatically
improved light- emitting balance of three primary colours. This reproduces purer
whites while maintaining while maintaining a high level of brightness . The use
of a wavelength-selective filter on the front panel and new green phosphors also
expands the range of colour reproduction to the level of HDTV studio standards,
resulting in rich, natural colour expression. User Friendly Multimedia
Display - HDTV Compatible The
TH-37PWD4 lets you take advantage of the superior picture quality available from
today's most advanced media. It enables you to hook up digital component video
inputs (Y, Pb, Pr) to the unit for viewing of DTV broadcasts in either HDTV (1080i
or 720p) or SDTV (480p or 480i) formats. In order to view DTV programming , the
TH-37PWD4 must be connected to a separate DTV set-top box. UXGA PC
Signal Compatibility Built-in
down converter - a Panasonic original - makes the TH-37PWD4 compatible with a
wide variety of PC display modes. This converter automatically switches the scanning
frequency depending on the input signal. It provides a horizontal scanning rate
of 15.6kHz up to a very high 110 kHz, and vertical scanning of 45Hz to 120 Hz.
The converter can process VGA, SVGA, XGA and UXGA modes, and display each in the
480p format. Slot-Type Terminal Boards Panasonic
plasma display features a slot-type interface for easy expandability. The slot
accepts a variety of optional terminal boards for a wide range of input sources,
from composite video, S-video and RGB digital signals. Ultra
Thin, Lightweight Design The
TH-37PWD4 offers the powerful viewing impact of a 37-inch-diagonal screen in a
unit that's only 89mm deep and weighs only 25kg. Using the optional equipment
available you can install the TH-37PWD4 in places where you never before imagined
having a large screen display. Quiet Operation We
increased the panel's heat radiation efficiency, eliminating the need for a fan
- and eliminating fan noise. The "silence engineering" gives you the kind of quiet
operation that makes for a more pleasant viewing experience. Low
Power Consumption A
newly developed power supply circuit combines with improvements in the panel's
light-emitting efficiency to reduce power consumption by 25%. Screen
Savers Select
from a total of three screen savers to minimise the risk of uneven phosphor aging.
The white Bar Scroll is designed for ordinary still-image displays, Screen Reversal
is for text-screen displays, and Side Panel Adjustments is for 4:3 mode images.
All three can be started up in manual mode, or they can be set to automatically
start/stop st present times at timer mode or for preset periods interval mode.
Set-up
Functions for Easier Professional Use: On-Screen
Display Off:
Cancels the on-screen display when you are switching input sources
ot there is no signal being input. Initial
Input Set:
Sets the input source (video, component video, RGB, PC) for when
power is turned on. Initial
Volume Set:
Sets the volume level for when the power is turned on.
Maximum Volume
Set: Prevents
the volume from exceeding the set level. Fixed
Input Selection: "Locks"
the input setting (video, component video, RGB, PC) so it cannot be inadvertently
switched. Restricted
Button Operation:
Disables the front panel buttons (volume, input). Either butoon,
or both, can be disabled. Studio
